Come on in ...

Kim's Candy Cottage started with a simple thought: I wonder if I can make hard candy—and make it a little different?

So I started experimenting. Then I started sharing what I made with friends at church. They kept asking for more. Before long, I found myself thinking, If I'm making it anyway, maybe I could sell it.

And when those same friends kept buying it, another idea began to grow. Maybe this little candy business could become more than a hobby. Maybe it could help supplement our retirement someday—if we ever actually retire—and eventually become something I can pass down to my daughter and granddaughters.

That's how Kim's Candy Cottage grew: one experiment, one batch, and one “Can I get some more?” at a time.
